Ray Kurzweil, prolific electrical engineer, inventor, and Google Chief Technology Officer, rocked the geekosphere with his 2006 release of The Singularity is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology (https://amzn.to/2HCHsED). You may question the value of reading a book whose content is now 13 years old, but you may be surprised by the prescience and continued relevance of Kurzweil’s forecasts.

This post is a book-discussion seed. We will meet on Sunday, July 29 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (tentative) to discuss. Until then, we invite members to post your own reviews, recommended updated references, and other related observations as comments to this post. In other words, let’s have our online discussion here rather than on our Meetup page.
